AI for Podcast and Media Teams

Build an episode production system connecting transcripts, speaker verification, show notes, and reusable content.

Where the operating value comes from

A media team can generate many clips and summaries from a recording while losing track of context, publication permissions, and corrected statements. A useful implementation preserves a clear relationship between the source episode and every derivative.

First deliverable: An episode release pack with timestamped evidence and derivative approvals.

The source material to prepare

Approved recording, corrected transcript, guest publication permissions, episode brief, fact-check notes, and channel requirements.

Choose a source owner and establish which record wins when versions disagree. Use approved sample records before connecting live systems. The purpose of the pilot is to see whether the team can accept the output with less total effort.

Three distinct workflows

WorkflowAI preparationHuman decisionMeasure
Episode evidence outlineIdentify themes, claims needing verification, and relevant timestamps.Producer confirms context and editorial treatment.Claims unresolved before episode release.
Derivative content mappingDraft clips, show notes, and article outlines tied to source passages.Editor checks that each derivative preserves the speaker’s meaning.Derivatives returned for context loss.
Correction propagationIdentify which published derivatives depend on a corrected episode statement.Managing editor decides the correction and distribution steps.Affected assets with a recorded correction action.

A worked exception

Illustrative case: a guest describes a failed experiment before explaining why it failed. A short clip containing only the original tactic would reverse the lesson. The release pack should preserve the qualifying passage or exclude that clip.

Build the first pilot

  1. Select one episode and create a corrected transcript with stable timestamps.
  2. Map proposed assets to the exact passages they depend on.
  3. Test a speaker correction, a disputed statistic, an off-record section, and a quote requiring nearby context.
  4. Approve each destination asset and retain a dependency map for later corrections.

Exception handling and boundaries

Publication restrictions, licensed media, disputed factual claims, and sensitive guest information require editorial resolution. Do not fabricate quotations or attribute a generated statement to a speaker.

What the next operator needs

Store the accepted transcript, timestamps, permissions, asset versions, approvals, and live destinations. Assign an editor to manage corrections after publication.

Measure preparation, review, corrections, and the time to an accepted deliverable. Record unsuccessful attempts as well as successful ones. A draft that shifts work to another team should appear in the pilot’s cost and quality record.
